A long form shouldn't look long
- The situation
- A client had forms with a great many fields. People started them, got scared by the length and gave up.
- What I proposed
- The same information, but asked for in small steps, so the journey feels easy.
- What I fixed
- I rebuilt the forms in several steps: few fields on each, with a clear indicator of how much is left, and a more logical order of questions.
- The result
- The form is easier to get through and more customers reach the end.
The real length matters less than how long it looks. Small steps make the same request feel easier.
