Hi, I'm Ștefan.I solve technical problems.
I'm a software engineer and freelancer based in Iași, Romania. For over 20 years I've been building and fixing web applications for companies in several countries: SaaS platforms and products, payments and financial flows, online stores and AI integrations.
I also run a product of my own, PluginsForStores, with plugins for WordPress and WooCommerce. I know what it takes to bring an idea to real users, not just to deliver for others.
I work under the name IasiDev, software engineering from Iași, on a B2B basis, remotely, with clients from anywhere.
How I work
I start from the problem
The first question is "what is this costing you now?", not "what technology do you want?". The solution comes after I understand the problem.
I propose the simplest thing that works
I don't rewrite everything when a small change is enough. I pick the part that hurts most and fix it first.
I deliver in stages
You see progress from the start and can correct course along the way, not only at the end.
I speak plainly
I explain what I do and why, without jargon. What matters is what changes in your business.
Career
- 2003–2009
Web design and web development: websites, visual identity and SEO. I also ran my own web agency.
- 2010–2013
Web development in PHP and .NET, plus email marketing campaigns and integrations with marketing platforms.
- 2013–2017
Large web platforms: a banking portal, the rebuild of a publisher’s website network of over 200 sites, a real-estate site with maps and filters, a delivery route optimisation platform.
- 2017–2022
Technical team lead: a configurable media-buying platform, payment modules, an insurance underwriting platform, a migration from AngularJS to Angular.
- 2022–2026
A design system used by over 20 applications, built together with 10 teams.
- 2026–now
AI solutions and full-stack products, from idea to production.
Industries I have worked in: Banking · Insurance · Payments · Media · Real estate · Public administration · Automotive.
I started on a 286, fought with Internet Explorer and made animations in Flash, back when CSS was still just an idea. Since then I've had one rule: simple solutions last the longest.
What I don't do
- I don't promise results I can't measure or stand behind.
- I don't build something complicated when a simple option solves the problem.
- I don't start a project before I understand what you want to get out of it.
