The order platform that froze at peak hours
Client: TransVest Logistic
The problem
Dispatch entered orders into an old application. Between 9:00 and 11:00 the page froze, and staff entered orders twice or on paper. Orders were lost, and customers called to ask where their goods were.
The proposed solution
Instead of rewriting everything, I proposed modernising in stages: first the part that froze (the list and order entry), then the rest. The application would stay in use throughout.
What I delivered
- A new orders screen, fast and simple, with instant search.
- A rebuilt server side that accounts for the volume at peak hours.
- The switch to the new version was made gradually, one department at a time, without interruption.
The benefit afterwards
The freezes disappeared, and the team stopped writing orders down on paper. With the same team, the company processed a quarter more orders per day, and the number of “where are my goods?” calls dropped noticeably.
