The page title decides whether anyone opens you from Google
- The situation
- A site can appear on Google and still not be opened, if the title and description don't clearly say what the person will find there.
- What I proposed
- Every page should have a title and a description that answer what the customer searched for.
- What I fixed
- On an auto service's site, I wrote, for each service, titles and descriptions in the words people search for, not the company's name.
- The result
- The pages are easier to find and clearer in the results, which helps both with ranking and with clicks.
Google shows the person two lines about each page. If those lines don’t answer what they searched for, the person moves on to the next result.
