Software built to run well on little memory
- Back then
- On the computers of that time memory was scarce, and anything extra was felt immediately.
- What I did
- I had to make the program run well with what I had.
- What I learned
- To keep only what's needed, waste nothing and know what each added thing costs.
- Today
- Today, when resources seem unlimited, I apply the same rule: fast, lightweight applications that run well even on a weak phone.
The limits back then taught me what happens when resources are missing. You can see it in the speed of today’s applications.
